Dental students garner advice at Saturday panel, luncheon

Hinman will host a special Dental Student Networking & Luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday in the Georgia World Congress Center, B Building Registration Area. A panel of dentists, including Drs. Drew Shessel, Brook Corbett and Alex Cranford, will offer their advice and share stories about transitioning from dental school to dental practice.

While enjoying a casual lunch, students can learn how and where to find a practice, how to hire a staff, and the benefits of organized dentistry. The panel will take questions and encourage conversation on topics of interest. Hinman members, including General Chairman Dr. Jim Roos, President Dr. Jonathan Dubin, Dr. Brad Greenway and Dr. Kate Robinson, will be available to answer questions and direct students to Friday and Saturday courses, exhibits and events, such as:

  • 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Friday: O.L.D. Program (Fr500) for Graduates of the Last Decade 2005-2015
  • 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. Friday: Hinman’s Night Out: Dancing in the Dome at the Georgia Dome.
  • 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday: Networking and Panel Discussion With Women Dentists, Course Sa376 (no fee)
  • 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday: “2016 CRDTS Dental Examination Review,” Course Sa386 — Dr. Stephan Holcomb (no fee)
  • 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday: Career Connections by Hinman
